Planning, Organisation and Time Management
Hi,
It’s been a pretty intense few days and boy do I feel like an idiot!
I’ll tell you why, this week’s training has been covering the basics to running an online business which was fantastic, the trouble is I was taught how essential it is to have a plan, to set your goals down on paper, to map everything out with set timescales and then organise your time so the things you do are productive tasks years ago.
Guess what I did with it? Yeah you’re right absolutely nothing .
The thing is my mentor Alex Jeffreys was on the exact same training course learning the same information, the difference being he implemented it, which in turn helped him increase his income by 100′s of thousands of dollars. OK now you’re saying what an idiot!
It’s no good having the knowledge if you don’t take action, it’s like having a car without any wheels (going nowhere right) so for the next couple of days I am going to concentrate on setting my long and short term goals to paper and creating my roadmap to success.
If you want success in your life then I urge you to do the same.
If you want to know more on planning for the future and how to go about it, Alex has created a two part video series to help.
You can access the videos for free here – work less earn more
Just take a look and then let me know what you think.
One last thing before I go I’m sure there are many people reading this that have all their goals set down and are steadily walking the path to success. I would love to know what your favourite methods are, what tools you are using and how you keep yourself on track.
Please learn by my mistake take action don’t leave things to chance, if you do you will regret it (believe me I know).
Take action now – Plan for success.
To your success
Michelle

HI Michelle,
With a hectic “JOB” schedule with 2 hours to and from commuting. My challenge is not having a plan, but rather implementing my Plan within the time line I set. And it is discouraging when the schedule keep being delayed due to of unforeseen interruption from my day work.
I manage to overcome this big hurdles though…. by simply putting away about time element in the mean time.
Instead, I break down my plan into bullet points and sub points of “concrete action” to take. Each action is to create a “certain condition” so my next action can make sense.
Example would be my 4-5 months of blank moment on my Blog. I let go the urge to blog for the sake of blogging, but focus entirely on creating my “valuable preposition” before anything else. Cause it is the real action that create value, and I realized also that most of the actions, are actually “behind-the scene” actions that only those that walk the walk will understand.
I guess you will have a lot of “behind-the-scene” actions happening in the coming days.
Do visit the MWA Student Forum often whenever you are stuck or need adise. That Form is a great source of help I ever had.
Cheers

Hi Jason,
Thanks for dropping by again I really appreciate your support and totally agree with your comment especially the time management aspect of everything .
I’ve spent several days putting my plan together to incorporate absolutely everything, work, studying, family and me time with enough flexibility to incorporate those things that “I don’t know I don’t know yet” but putting a time on everything and actually sticking to it is proving rather difficult.
Bullet points and making each action create a “certain condition” so my next action can make sense, really makes sense, thanks Jason.
I’m on my way over to the forum now, I look forward to seeing you there.
To your success
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
Great post on planning and organization. It’s a must. I learned the importance of this when I decided to get serious about painting and producing artwork. At first, I kept getting distracted by everything else that needed to be done. Although I had intended to spend several hours in my studio painting – I would find myself at the end of the day with no time left to paint.
So I organized (and simplified) all of my daily or weekly tasks, learned to let some things go, eliminated some of the unnecessary things that consumed a lot of time but did not lead towards my chosen goal, and promised myself that I would spend a minimum of 6-8 hours a day in my studio painting.
What can I say? It worked. Since then I have produced hundreds of paintings, sold many of them, been in multiple juried and solo shows, and started selling online as well.
It takes a lot of focus and perserverance to acheive a goal – but first you have to have one.
Thanks for the great post.

Hi Joelle,
Thank you for taking the time to stop by,
Well done Joelle I’m so pleased that you have achieved your goal to paint and are doing so successfully. It confirms my belief that you can achieve anything in life as long as you have a plan.
I’m still at the stage where life gets in the way and makes it difficult to focus on the productive tasks (hours at my computer and no real work done) fortunately because of people like yourself and the great advice I am recieving, it’s getting easier and easier day by day to let go of the unnecessary things that consume the most time for the least value.
Like you said you first have to have a plan
To your success

Hi,
I’m pleased you found me by whatever means, nice to meet you.
I’m glad you found the information valuable, It has made such a difference to my progress, I’m much further forward than I would have been if I hadn’t done the plan first.
If you haven’t put your plan down on paper I totally reccomend you do it today it will make such a difference to tomorrow.
Hope to see you again
Michelle
